PROJECT CODE
HOG-R-08 (The Woven Residence)
The name derives from the recurring use of woven cane (rattan) textures interplayed with geometric grid paneling and tactile stone surfaces throughout the apartment.
PROJECT DESCRIPTION
The Tactile Script represents a nuanced dialogue between modern minimalism and classical warmth. This residential interior project transforms a high-rise apartment into a serene sanctuary through a rigorous yet organic material palette. The spatial planning prioritizes fluidity, utilizing open metal-and-wood shelving systems to demarcate the living and dining zones without obstructing light or visual connectivity.
The design language is anchored in the juxtaposition of textures: smooth travertine stone surfaces contrast with the organic warmth of woven rattan joinery and the rhythmic precision of timber grid paneling. A soft, neutral color envelope is punctuated by architectural wall moldings—ranging from classical arches in the living area to sharp geometric lines in the private quarters.
Illumination plays a sculptural role, combining architectural track lighting with statement woven fixtures to define zones and enhance the tactile quality of the finishes. The result is a turnkey interior project that balances high-end residential luxury with the comfort of a grounded, well-crafted home.

DESIGN HIGHLIGHTS
- Architectural Softening: The use of large-scale arches and curved recesses in the living and bedroom areas to break rigid rectilinear lines.
- Material Continuity: A consistent application of textured limewash paint across walls and ceilings creates a cave-like, enveloping atmosphere.
- Transitional Spaces: The corridor is treated as a destination rather than a passage, utilizing olive wainscoting and track lighting to create a gallery effect.
- Cultural Integration: A fluted glass and black metal partition system elegantly houses the Puja and home office, blending tradition with industrial modernity.
- Biophilic Elements: Integration of indoor planting, including a large olive tree within the bedroom window bay, blurring the indoor-outdoor boundary.
- Joinery Detailing: Extensive use of fluted wardrobe fronts and vanity units in varying hues (terracotta, sage green, and plum) to add rhythm and depth.
